Ashanti

American singer songwriter Ashanti became one of the defining voices of 2000s R&B following the release of her self-titled debut album in 2002. The record debuted at number one on both the Billboard 200 and R&B charts, becoming the fastest-selling debut album by a female artist in history at the time. Led by the chart-topping single “Foolish”, Ashanti quickly established herself as a global star through smooth vocals, emotional songwriting and crossover appeal.

Across 6 studio albums, Ashanti has earned a GRAMMY Award alongside Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, Soul Train Awards and ASCAP honours. Her catalogue includes enduring hits like “Rock Wit U (Awww Baby)” and “Only U”, while collaborations with Ja Rule, Fat Joe and Fabolous helped define an era of hip hop and R&B. Beyond music, she has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, built a successful film career and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022.
