Melbourne’s fashion elite descended on Margaret Court Arena (MCA) in March to witness the closing runway of the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

In a first for MCA, the venue was transformed into a runway fit for haute couture, with Australia’s leading designers, including Carla Zampatti, Mariam Seddiq, Jasongrech and Leo Lin, dazzling with their impressive collections.

Over three thousand guests were treated to a tailored retail menu as part of the event, while VIPs also enjoyed a function at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park.

The first event in MCA in 300 days, the Closing Runway showed off the venue’s versatility and its place as Melbourne & Olympic Parks’ home for unique, exciting events.

In 2021, MCA hosted Summertime at the Ballet for the first time, with the venue regularly playing host to a diverse program of events and acting as a launchpad for up-and-coming artists.

MCA now eagerly awaits a full program for the remainder of the year, with comedians Chris Rock and Carl Barron, a speaking series featuring Shaquille O’Neal, family favourites PAW Patrol Live! and music acts including DMA’S, Guy Sebastian, Louis Tomlinson, Rex Orange County and alt-J slated to take the stage.
