Australian rock duo Hockey Dad bring the Rebuild Repeat tour to Melbourne this July, presented by triple j and Volcom.
The tour announcement follows the release of their latest single ‘Base Camp’ and news of their fourth studio album, Rebuild Repeat, due for release on June 14.
Hockey Dad, comprised of childhood friends Zach Stephenson and Billy Hemming, will make their way their way to Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Friday 5 July and be joined by special guests Militarie Gun and The Belair Lip Bombs.
What began as a pastime during surfless days, Hockey Dad have now been a band for 10 years.
Built around their EP and three album releases (earning them Gold and Platinum awards) they have amassed a legion of fans that have seen them headlining tours across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Canada, the USA, and UK, and performing main stage sets at some of the world’s biggest festivals.
On announcing the ‘Rebuild Repeat’ album and Australian tour, Hockey Dad are in the middle of performing 21 headline shows across the USA and Canada. It’s start of a new and exciting era for the band.
SUPPORT
Militarie Gun can’t be stopped. In just two short years since their inception, the Los Angeles-based group have been turning heads with a menacing yet melodic sound that’s impossible to ignore and a creative drive that borders on obsession.
Formed in 2020, Militarie Gun is defined by the musical restlessness of vocalist/mastermind Ian Shelton.
The band–whose lineup has expanded to include guitarists Nick Cogan and William Acuña, drummer Vince Nguyen, and bassist Max Epstein–draw on a wide range of influences to make something that sounds combative yet accessible, and undeniably their own.
SUPPORT
Frankston indie quartet The Belair Lip Bombs started as fresh-faced teenagers straight out of school in the summer of 2018.
The band are made up of guitarist/ vocalist Maisie Everett (who also plays bass in rising punk trio CLAMM), guitarist Mike Bradvica, bassist Jimmy Droughton and drummer Liam de Bruin (who also makes electronic music under his own name for cool Melbourne label Heard & Felt).
They have played a stack of shows with the likes of Spacey Jane, Press Club, Tired Lion, Bloods, British India, Clowns, Good Doogs and Pist Idiots, toured up and down the East Coast and released two much-loved EPs.
